Do you believe friendships can fade over time?
Answer

I don't believe it, because of a real example that happened around me. Two of my classmates in junior high were once very close friends, but they became enemies after a conflict caused by a lack of trust about two months ago.

Now, they ignore each other and often speak badly about one another to other friends.

I've reconnected with friends after years, and it felt like nothing changed.

True connections don't fade. They just take pauses.

We grow, our values shift, and sometimes who we were close to at 18 doesn't align with who we are at 30. It's sad but normal.

People move, get new jobs, start families…

Sometimes it's not even about a fight, just a slow drift. I've lost touch with childhood friends simply because we grew in different directions.

Any relationship takes work. If one person stops trying, it's natural that the bond weakens over time. I've experienced that first-hand.

Actually it's a common practice, especially when you and your friends go to different high schools. Less connection, less affection.
