Are Chinese cities disabled-friendly?
Answer

It's basicly depend on the development and education of a city. For example, you can see plenty chrarity actovities and well-designed
facilities for disabled person in a city with advanced idea and higher level of economy.
In the contrary, there might be less even no such facility or strategy for them in a pendu or deprived area.

Different cities have different manners. In my opinion, the best city for disabled people is Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

First of all, Beijing is the capital of China. So it goes without saying that it is the best model in China.

Secondly, as the largest commercial city in China, Shanghai is also friendly towards people with disabilities.

Last but not least, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has the best manner to disabled people. For example, the buses there all have a slope designed for disabled people. When disabled people are going to boarding, the bus drivers will get off and put the slope down in order to accessing Wheelchairs for Disabled Persons. Therefore, there are dedicated areas designed for people with disabilities. It can be used to secure a wheelchair.

In conclusion, I think many of China's attention to disabled people still lags behind that of foreign countries, so I also hope that our country can strengthen its emphasis on disabled people.

In Beijing, where I am living at in the moment, I really cannot complain. Most infrastructure here is disabled-friendly, with lifts and ramps at almost every subway station and sidewalk markings for the blind widely installed throughout the city. Although there is always room for improvement, compared to other countries, China is already ahead. In my home city in Germany for example, sidewalk indicators for the blind are extremely rare, and leave much to be desired.

In Beijing I have seen many instances of lacking facilities for disabled people. Especially concerning toilets, most public places do not yet offer separate option which is adequately installed for disabled persons. Sidewalks and traffic often seem dangerous for wheelchair users, with high curbstones and careless drivers. These lacking accommodations and facilities can prevent disabled persons from wanting to go outside at all, contributing to a silent discrimination. For a society that values equality, more has to be done here.

The cities can have the best infrastructure for the disabled but if the mindset of the Chinese is not "disabled-friendly", it all comes to nought. Consideration for others should be taught from young so that even if the infrastructure is not there, the disabled can still feel at ease in the cities because there are people to help them when needed. I think the first thing that should be changed is the mindset of the people. The infrastructure is needed also but is secondary.

Shanghai? Honestly I don't think so.So many people in Shanghai have refresh my three views  since 2019 when the covid-19 came. Most of them even being impolite to normal public. So don't say they could even been friendly to disabled. Just my own opinion.

I think all the Chinese people have the sympathy for the disabled people in their hearts. But limited by the development of the city, there may not be abundant facilities, activities and funding for disabled people in undeveloped areas.
