What will you do when an earthquake strikes?

Don't panic. Don't take the (building) elevator. Don't run out of your building (house) into the streets (falling debris) before the shaking stops, unless you smell gas escaping. Don't fail to be cautious of crumbling infrastructure. (you've made it this far, don't blow it now!) Don't fail to watch your step for (downed power lines, ground fissures and debris. Don't fail to avoid walking below tall buildings (aftershocks can blowout glass windows).

Depending on where you are: A bathroom tub perhaps. Or under a very strong, sturdy table. I know. I experienced a 7.0 earthquake. You Must Think Clearly and Logically. Make sure you have an escape plan with supplies if necessary, to 'bug out'. Keep your pets close by and supplied also. Water is utmost important. A portable radio is of immense help. Keep away from windows.

If you're outside, get into the open, clear of buildings, power lines, trees or anything else that can fall on you.

The same thing you should do during the day: "drop, cover, and hold" wherever you are. The best advice is to NOT attempt to flee outside mostly because of the danger of stuff falling on you as you attempt to flee.

Don't be panic. If there's a bed, get under it. If there's a table, hide under it. If there is nothing, find a soft thing to protect your head and hide in the corner of the walls. Don't run away without making it clear, as a result of the speed of earthquakes doesn 't allow you to do that.

If I'm on the first floor, rush out quickly and find an empty area, waiting for help. If I'm on the higher floors, stay under the table or something tough, wait for help.

In case I am trapped into the ruins,I will do my utmost to survive. But in case I am out of there,I will volunteer for the survivors.
