Answer

I know it from the film of "Sister" that is starred by actress Zhang Zifeng. Adapted from a blog published on a Chinese Q&A platform Zhihu, the tale follows a elder sister striving for fostering her litter brother as their parents died from a car accident.

I think the elder sister could have her own career and life. But how could she threw away her litter brother as the latter said he regarded the sister as the only relative.

As for me, I don't think the sister  have the obligation to raise her sibling.

First, she is not old enough to make money to foster both of them meanwhile. Her brother is too young to raise easily.

Second, she is herself, who has her own dream to pursue. Other relatives of them should support her to fullfill her target rather than demand her to forgive everything that she desires. At a long distance, if she get a good educated, then she would bring a better live condition to her brother. That's good. Last, about the gender although she is a girl, her elder relatives could not ask her do the same way as her aunt.

In a word, we should consider whether everything that we decide to do is worth, or which is the consequence that we want.

From my own perspective, the sister should adopt her siblings till a certain age. In spite of we have our own life and career, our siblings only have us. Therefore, I agree the first sentence I mentioned above.

Maybe if the sister have the job, and the brother very young and don't have other relatives, I think she can do it but this decide people's own mind.

It depends. If the brother treated his sister well, then she may be willing to sacrifice her energy to raise him. If not, I see no reason why the sister need to do that.

I think that's depends on the situation. Everyone has his own condition and has the right to make the corresponding choice according to his own situation.

Yes, I will. Just because he or she is my relative.

If the sister doesn't raise her brother. Who can do? The government and the sister are only two chooses. But the government is the last choice.

She deserves the right to decide whether she will foster her little brother or not. It is difficult for anyone as her age to foster a child, not to say she can barely feed herself. Thereby I don't think anyone can make the decision for her or blame her for not make the so-called "right" decision.

In the final analysis, the government should have overall responses to this situation. If minors don't have any relatives who is able to support him/her, there should be an government agency to offer them help. Even the big siblings are willing to bring the little ones up, the government still needs to pay close attention to their life and provide them preferential policies when they are both underage and unable to support themselves.

Last but not least, if the big sister forster her younger brother, the younger one should have the obligation to support the bigger one when she/he is old. After all, responsibility should be equal.
